The Winesap is an heirloom apple that dates back to at least the nineteenth century. While is can be eaten fresh, it has a more culinary history and is a popular apple for cider making. First documented in 1803 as one of the finest American apples grown for making cider. Semi-dry, fruit forward light notes of white wine, strawberry and honey.
