Stangl Pottery Hummingbird Figurine

Stangl Pottery produced a large variety of bird figurines between 1939-1955. Stangl fashioned its birds after the illustrations that appeared in John James Audubon's book "Birds of America". This one is a hummingbird shown in mid-flight about to drink nectar from a lovely open flower. The colors are vibrant and the condition is excellent. It is clearly marked on the bottom "Stangl Pottery Birds" in an oval.
