The Whatcom Brewing and Malting Co. operated in Washington State from 1899 to 1903. This is a wood handled advertising corkscrew for the company. There is some wear to the text which says: "Compliments of the Whatcom Brewing and Malting Co. Whatcom, Wash. Need not pull keep turning". At this point in time, the only way to seal bottles of beer was by corking them so a corkscrew was necessary. The last photo is of the original Whatcom Brewery building which burned down sometime after 1925. Nice piece of history for the advertising or corkscrew collector.
Very good antique condition.
